Women of the area will have a chance to learn self-defense skills on March 2, from 12:30-2:30 p.m. Kicks Are For Kids, a New Jersey nonprofit, along with the instructors of Black Belt Institute in Metuchen, are inviting women age 15 and older to learn how to defend themselves mentally and physically.
The instructors of Black Belt Institute will conduct the Women’s Self-Defense Workshop. They will teach women how to keep themselves safer, and everyone will get the opportunity to practice the techniques taught. Instructors will show women how to avoid falling victim to people seeking to hurt or exploit them.
Donations to Kicks Are For Kids are requested, with a suggested amount of $10 per person. Kicks Are For Kids seeks to promote healthy lifestyle choices for underprivileged, at-risk kids with positive mentoring through physical-arts training in a fun and friendly environment.
The workshop will take place at the Black Belt Institute, 23 New St., Metuchen. Register in person or by calling 732-205-9797. Please register by Feb. 23, as space is limited.
