Allentown community’s holiday spirit recognized

Thank you, Examiner, for your coverage and for your photographer.

The Women’s Association of Allentown (WAA) held its caroling and tree lighting ceremonies Dec. 7 — a bitter cold night. A tree decorated by WAA members was donated by JR Landscaping of Jackson and displayed at the home of Stephanie Smith, Main Street.

The borough’s staff decorated borough hall. The police department kindly guided our carolers safely through town. The Methodist church provided the hall where Santa and Mrs. Claus returned again to greet the children who were served fancy decorated ornament cakes made by a member’s sister.

Most of all, thanks to the carolers, adults and children, who braved the frigid weather to take part in the festivities.

We ladies of WAA sincerely appreciate the support of each and every one of you.
