MARLBORO – A Buffalo Wild Wings restaurant is coming to Route 9 south in Marlboro, although municipal officials do not have a date for the business’s opening.
References to the anticipated arrival of Buffalo Wild Wings in Marlboro have been made by local officials since January. A pair of resolutions regarding the business were passed by the Township Council on May 19.
First, the council authorized the transfer of a liquor license from AGPC Management to Buffalo Wild Wings to be used at 167 Route 9 South.
According to Township Clerk Alida Manco, the liquor license was initially obtained by AGPC Management to be used at 47 Tennent Road in the Morganville section of Marlboro. That location was formerly the Illusion Steakhouse and the Ville Tavern. AGPC Management is comprised of Attilio Guario and Philip Caminiti of Staten Island, N.Y.
Second, the council authorized a proximity restriction waiver for Buffalo Wild Wings. Marlboro’s code does not permit two liquor licenses to operate within 600 feet of one another, but that situation will be permitted in this case.
Buffalo Wild Wings will occupy space that previously housed a jewelry and formal dress business in a Route 9 strip mall.
Township Engineer Laura Neumann said a plan for renovations at the location has not been received and no date has been set for a municipal review of the Buffalo Wild Wings operation.
In anticipation of a new restaurant coming to town, Mayor Jonathan Hornik said, “A mandate of my administration has been actively seeking out good clean commercial ratables. Buffalo Wild Wings will be a welcome addition to the Marlboro business community. I look forward to officially welcoming them with a Marlboro Economic Development Committee grand opening ribbon cutting ceremony.”
The Buffalo Wild Wings in Marlboro is to be owned by Bipin Patel of Warren, Amit Patel of South Amboy and Vipul Patel of Somerset. The three named owners currently own five Buffalo Wild Wings locations in New Jersey.
