METUCHEN — Quick detective work led to the arrest of an Elizabeth man who allegedly entered a Clinton Place residence while the residents were asleep and stole multiple items.
Alfred Jones, 58, was charged with burglary and theft on June 7. His bail was set at $50,000, and he was transported to the Middlesex County Corrections Center in North Brunswick, according to Police Sgt. Arthur Flaherty.
The Clinton Place residents told police that someone entered their home between midnight and 6 a.m. on June 7.
Within three hours of the police report and utilizing investigative techniques, police were able to locate Jones at a West Grand Avenue residence in Elizabeth, according to police.
All of the stolen property was found in Jones’ possession, Flaherty said.
