ALLENTOWN – A motor vehicle stop in the borough ended with drug charges being lodged against two individuals.
Police said a 2011 Nissan was stopped at 10:20 p.m. July 12 after Patrolman Anthony Rando observed it operating at a high rate of speed and with a broken tail light in the area of North Main and Broad streets.
Police said while Rando was conducting an investigation at the scene, he discovered a substance believed to be heroin, several hypodermic syringes and other drug paraphernalia in the vehicle. Rando called for assistance and the New Jersey State Police responded.
Police said the driver, Margaret Bozzetti, 29, of Brick Township, and the passenger, Tyler Breece, 19, of Toms River, were taken into custody.
Bozzetti was charged with speeding, failure to maintain lamps, possession of a controlled dangerous substance in a motor vehicle, possession of heroin, possession of heroin with intent to distribute or manufacture, possession of hypodermic syringes and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Police said Bozzetti did not immediately post bail in the amount of $100,000 and she was placed in the Monmouth County jail, Freehold Township.
Breece was charged with possession of heroin and possession of drug paraphernalia. He was taken to Allentown police headquarters, processed and released.
