Bowl for Hunter slated for Aug. 4 at Majestic Lanes

Assemblyman Craig J. Coughlin, in partnership with the Raritan Bay Medical Center, Woodbridge Metro Chamber of Commerce and Middlesex Water Company, will host the Seventh Annual Bowl for Hunger on Aug. 4, 5:30-10 p.m.at the Majestic Lanes, 525 State Route 9 north in the Hopelawn section of Woodbridge Township. The venue will host two bowl sessions with more than 550 preregistered bowlers who, through their support and the support of local sponsors, are uniting to strike out hunger in the 19th Legislative District.

Bowling opportunities are still available but very limited for the 8-10 p.m. time slot. Organizers welcome the public to stop by to show their support for the area’s food banks, cheer on participants, and purchase a Bowl for Hunger t-shirt.

Last year’s Bowl for Hunger raised more than $27,200 for the 32 food banks in the towns of Carteret, Perth Amboy, Sayreville, South Amboy and Woodbridge. Proceeds from this year’s event will be divided evenly among the 32 food banks serving area residents.

Interested community members or businesses wishing to enter a bowling team for the 8 p.m. session or make a donation to the “Bowl for Hunger” should contact the Bowl for Hunger Committee at 732-754-5970.
