Clayton Park Activity Center will be home to rec programs

UPPER FREEHOLD — The Monmouth County Park System has debuted the newly acquired Clayton Park Activity Center at 202 Davis Station Road in the Imlaystown section of Upper Freehold Township.

According to a press release, the activity center was acquired by the park system in late 2015 and will be used to host recreation programs. An open house at the activity center was held on Aug. 10.

The activity center was originally constructed as a school and was once used as offices by the Drug Abuse Resistance Education New Jersey program. The building is the newest addition to Clayton Park, a 443-acre park that is known for its hiking and bicycling opportunities.

With the addition of the activity center, the park system plans to expand the park’s recreational offerings. Upcoming programs include Introduction to Watercolor Painting, Rocket Kids and Preserving Summer’s Bounty, according to the press release.

The park system’s fall program directory will include a full listing of activities. For more information about Clayton Park or the park system, visit www.monmouthcountyparks.com or call 732-842-4000.
