MARLBORO – The Marlboro Township Council has authorized a shared services agreement with Freehold Township for code enforcement and housing/building inspection services.
Under the terms of the agreement, Freehold Township will provide code enforcement and housing/building inspection services to Marlboro when needed.
“In order to handle the demand for housing inspection services during the busy summer months, rather than bringing on additional employees, we reached out to Freehold Township to see if they could accommodate us by using their already existing staff,” Township Administrator Jonathan Capp said.
Marlboro officials approved the agreement on Aug. 11. Council President Carol Mazzola, Vice President Randi Marder and councilmen Jeff Cantor and Scott Metzger voted yes. Councilman Michael Scalea was absent.
Cantor thanked Mayor Jonathan Hornik and Capp for bringing the agreement with Freehold Township to fruition.
In other business, Capt. Peter Pezzullo was appointed as the records custodian for records maintained by the Marlboro Police Department and an inactive liquor license held by Wickatunk Holdings LLC (Andiron Inn) was renewed from July, 1, 2016 through June 30, 2017.
