LONG BRANCH — The New Jersey Repertory Company has announced playwriting and acting classes this fall at the new West End Performing Arts Center, 132 West End Ave.
All aspiring writers and actors can take their talents and skills to the next level by taking acting and playwriting courses taught by accredited professionals in their field.
Actors can learn improvisational skills by using traditional theatrical techniques. Writers of all levels are encouraged to learn playwriting basics and practice techniques for effective storytelling. Write short plays, develop a writer’s voice and have a play read on stage.
Wendy Peace will teach “Acting in the Afternoon” Oct. 18 and 25, Nov. 1, 10, 15 and 29 and Dec. 6 and 13 from 3-5 p.m. She will also teach “Advanced Acting” Oct. 18 and 25, Nov. 1, 10, 15 and 29 and Dec. 6 and 13 from 6:30-8:30 pm. The cost is $275 for each class.
Gail Winar will teach “Intro to Acting” Oct. 19 and 26, Nov. 2, 9, 16 and 30 and Dec. 7 and 14 from 6:30-8:30 p.m. The cost is $275.
New Jersey Repertory Company’s Literary Manager Joel Stone will teach “Playwriting” Oct. 20 and 27, Nov. 3, 10 and 17 and Dec. 1 and 8 from 6:30-9:15 p.m. The cost is $275.
