MARLBORO – Musician Phil Bruschi will perform classic songs from and discuss the career of Neil Diamond during an appearance at the Marlboro Public Library, Wyncrest Road, from 1-3 p.m. Oct. 20.
Information about the tribute performance is posted on Bruschi’s website and states that “Neil Diamond continues to endure in the world of pop music as a solo artist. This program focuses on his legendary career as a singer and songwriter, highlighting more than 45 years of struggles and successes.
“Diamond has sold over 125 million records worldwide and has performed in front of millions of concertgoers. This Brooklyn baritone has had 10 No. 1 hit singles over the years and is considered the third most successful adult contemporary artist on the ‘Billboard’ chart.”
During his appearance at the library, Bruschi will discuss Diamond’s career and perform songs including “Sweet Caroline,” “Hello Again,” “Cracklin’ Rosie” and “September Morn.”
Bruschi has been a college instructor, training consultant, author and speaker for more than 25 years. He teaches part-time at the University of North Carolina at Wilmington. Bruschi teaches public speaking and small group communications.
His website states that “as a result of his teaching at the University of North Carolina at Wilmington and involvement in the continuing studies area, he has created a variety of musical programs that are sometimes referred to as ‘edu-tain-ment.’ It is a mixture of education and entertainment rolled into one.”
