Run-Walk-Run slated Oct. 15 in Long Branch

Run-Walk-Run is coming to Long Branch for 10 weeks, beginning Oct. 15. The group will meet at 8 a.m. at the Chelsea Avenue Pavilion at Boardwalk and Chelsea Avenue in Pier Village. Jeff Galloway is an Olympian who represented the United States in track and field, running the 10K in the 1972 Munich Games. Since 1974, his original Run-Walk-Run method has led over a million people to safely achieve their running goals, from circling the block to the marathon.

All runners will receive a Galloway running shirt, discounts from local partners, a copy of Jeff’s book, “Running: Getting Started,” a 5K finish medal and direct email access to Jeff. In addition, tips and information will be provided by local experts on shoes, strength training, nutrition and more.

The cost is less than $10 a week, with discounts offered to students, seniors (60+) and the military. For more information, contact Monmouth County Program Director Mark Van Sant at [email protected]. Register online at www.active.com by typing “Jeff Galloway NJ”.
