The Arthritis Foundation is seeking runners and walkers to participate in the Jingle Bell Run/Walk for Arthritis on Sunday, Dec. 5, at Novita Bistro & Lounge in Metuchen.
The event has an 8:30 a.m. registration, and the finish-line reception will begin at 11:15 a.m. For kids age 12 and under, there will be a Santa Chase at 11 a.m. outside Novita’s.
The Arthritis Foundation’s Jingle Bell Run/Walk for Arthritis takes place in communities nationwide to raise awareness of arthritis, the nation’s leading cause of disability, while raising desperately needed funds for research, health education and government advocacy to improve the lives of people with arthritis. It takes place every year during the holiday season. Participants don festive holiday costumes, tie jingle bells to their shoelaces and join their neighbors in support of the Arthritis Foundation’s mission to prevent, control and cure arthritis and related diseases.
The event offers a 5K fun run and a one-mile walk with activities for the entire family. Participants can run or walk in honor of a friend or family member with arthritis. Participants receive commemorative long-sleeve T-shirts, “Beat the Cold” goodie bags, lunch, and bells for your shoes. The event is a USATF (USA Track & Field)-certified course.
