A winter-coat collection to benefit those less fortunate will take place Nov. 7-18 in East Brunswick and New Brunswick.
New or like-new winter coats (excluding leather and suede) may be dropped off at the following locations: East Brunswick Township offices, 1 Jean Walling Civic Center Drive, 9 a.m.-4 p.m., Mondays-Fridays; East Brunswick Parks and Recreation, 350 Dunhams Corner Road, 8 a.m.-4 p.m., Mondays-Fridays; Alternative Integrated Medical Services (AIMS Clinic), 150-A Tices Lane, East Brunswick, 9 a.m.-7 p.m., Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Fridays, and 9 a.m.-noon Thursdays and Saturdays; and Anseh Emeth Memorial Temple, 222 Livingston Ave., New Brunswick, 9 a.m.-3:30 p.m. Mondays-Fridays.
The East Brunswick Education Association Educational Support Professional Council, in conjunction with the East Brunswick Education Association and the East Brunswick Public School district, recently joined the coat-collection team.
All donated coats, which will be dry-cleaned compliments of Middlesex County Vocational and Technical High School, School of Career Development, East Brunswick, will be distributed beginning the week of Dec. 4 to Community of Hope Ministries (COHM), Spotswood; Women Aware, New Brunswick; Fish Hospitality Program, Piscataway; local food banks, ministries and individuals in need; students at the Edison Job Corps; and the Rescue Mission of Trenton. The Anshe Emeth Memorial Temple Youth Group will deliver the coats to homeless men and women Jan. 15, 2017, in New York City.
