Auditions for ‘The Merry Wives of Windsor’ Nov. 16, 18

Actors in grades 9-12 are invited to audition for a 75-minute version of William Shakespeare’s “The Merry Wives of Windsor”, adapted and directed by Nicole A. Watson. Rehearsals begin mid-January 2017 with performances in early March 2017 in the Rechnitz Theater at Two River Theater in Red Bank.

Actors should prepare a memorized, Shakespeare monologue, two minutes or less, either in verse or prose. Auditions will be held on Nov. 16 and 18 by appointment only. To book an audition date and time, contact Education Assistant, Amanda Espinoza, at [email protected] and include your full name, school, and cell phone number, or call 732-936-8804.

To apply to join the Production Team and/or Run Crew, all interested assistant stage managers, directors, designers, and run crew, should send an email telling about yourself and your experience, to Director of Education, Kate Cordaro, at [email protected].

• Director: One high school student is needed to assist the director throughout the rehearsal process and performances. Students who have an interest in directing and who want to learn more about it should apply. Shadow a professional director from beginning to end.

• Stage Managers: 1-2 assistant stage manager(s) are needed. Enhance your skills as an organized and professional stage manager as you work with the director and cast throughout the rehearsal process to bring the show to life. This is a great learning opportunity to shadow a professional stage manager.

• Designers:  Assistants for each designer are needed (Costumes, Lighting, Set, Sound, and Props). If you are interested in any area of technical theater, you could have the opportunity to assist a professional designer in translating the director’s vision to the stage; time commitment starts later in the rehearsal process.

• Run Crew: Responsible, organized people are needed to work backstage during rehearsals and productions, helping with scenery, costume changes, and more; time commitment starts later in the rehearsal process.
