RED BANK — Members of the First Baptist Church of Red Bank might see some familiar faces in new roles at Sunday services.

Stephen Brown and Jared Murray have both become pastors for the church, located on the corner of Maple and Oakland streets.

Brown grew up in Westfield. He has three children with his wife Barb. He has held several positions at the Red Bank church since 2010.

As described by Brown, God, in his sovereignty, has prepared and called him into pastoral ministry.

Brown has a B.A. degree in economics from Wake Forest University, an MBA degree from Utica College, an M.S. degree in banking from Boston University and a Certificate of Graduate Studies from Dallas Theological Seminary.

Murray grew up in Monmouth County and currently resides in Howell with his wife, Kimberly, and their three children.

Murray is committed to making disciples by developing leaders and forming communities that center on grace. He likes to connect with, mentor and teach others.

He has a B.A. degree in biblical and theological studies from Gordon College and an M.Div. degree.

The two pastors will be at every Sunday service at 10:30 a.m. and look forward to meeting everyone.

They also invite the community to attend a special service Christmas Eve at 7 p.m. On Christmas Day, the church will provide complimentary holiday meals for those in the community.

Church member Lee Brewer is excited to see what the new pastors accomplish.

“I am looking forward to their successful enhancement of our church objectives. We want to reach beyond our congregation walls and into the community. Now that we have two pastors who are committed to their church, plus our community, we are looking forward to this doubling our effectiveness.”
