Old Bridge’s Sitkowski announces transfer to IMG Academy

By Warren Rappleyea

Old Bridge High School quarterback Artur Sitkowski announced on his Twitter account that he will be transferring to IMG Academy in Bradenton, Florida, for his senior season.

Sitkowski acknowledged that it was a difficult decision and added, “I want to thank Old Bridge High School’s administration, teachers and staff for three unforgettable years. Thank you Coach [Anthony] Lanzafama and your staff for shaping me into the person I am today.”

The 6-foot-4, 210-pound signal-caller has been a key component of the Knights offense for the past two seasons — helping his team reach the NJSIAA Central Jersey, Group V playoffs each year. In 2016, Sitkowski threw for more than 1,200 yards and six touchdowns.

“Artur was a pleasure to coach. He had a great opportunity to go to IMG Academy, and we wish him the very best of luck,” Lanzafama said. “We know he will be successful”

Sitkowski reportedly has upwards of 20 scholarship offers from colleges, including Rutgers University, University of Miami and University Florida.

IMG is a sports-related boarding school and training academy. It focuses on baseball, basketball, football, golf, lacrosse, soccer, tennis, track and cross-country.
