The YMCA of Western Monmouth County will host “One Enchanted Evening,” its annual gala celebration, on March 11 at the Battleground Country Club, Manalapan.
Joined by Premier Sponsor Merrill Lynch Wealth Management, the YMCA will honor the Preston family and the Graeme Preston Foundation For Life, which was formed in 2008 to honor Graeme Preston, who passed away at age 12, to celebrate his life and start a movement built on kindness and generosity, according to a press release.
In addition, Patrick Preston, the brother of Freehold Township Mayor Lester Preston, is a former YMCA board member and continues to be a volunteer coach.
The Graeme Preston Foundation supports individuals and groups who demonstrate and uphold the principles by which Graeme lived, according to the press release.
From offering scholarships to deserving youth, to helping local families who have suffered an unexpected loss or hardship, the foundation has provided grants of more than $500,000 to families and organizations in the community. Featured at the gala will be ticket and silent auctions and a reception at 6:30 p.m., followed by dinner and dancing to the music of Mission Dance.
Tickets are $195 per person and sponsorship opportunities are available. All proceeds from the gala will benefit the YCares financial assistance program, according to the press release.
“As an organization committed to strengthening community, the Y is honored to be able to provide financial assistance to the children and families of our community who cannot otherwise afford the vital services the Y provides,” said Cynthia Joy, the organization’s president and CEO.
