JCC schedules ‘Power Your Brain’ class

The Jewish Community Center of Middlesex County, 1775 Oak Tree Road, Edison, has announced Dr. Elizabeth Aspell will present “Live Well at the JCC — Power Your Brain — The Relationship between Hearing and Cognition” at 1:30 p.m. March 7.

Recent research suggests that hearing difficulty can negatively impact a person’s cognition and overall quality of life. The Audiology Department at JFK Johnson Rehabilitation Institute has implemented a complete audiological rehab program that focuses on brain training exercises in addition to traditional amplification.

Learn about the complex interaction between hearing and cognition. Dr. Aspell has been an audiologist since 2006, receiving her doctorate from Vanderbilt University. She has received awards from Vanderbilt and was listed in NJ Family Health Magazine’s “Top Doc” in 2014, 2015 and 2016.

The presentation is free and open to the community as space allows.
