‘Twelfth Night’ with Cuban flair coming to MCVTS stage

Shakespeare’s classic comedy “Twelfth Night,” with a twist, will be presented at 7 p.m. March 30, 31 and April 2 on the East Brunswick campus of Middlesex County Vocational and Technical Schools (MCVTS), 112 Rues Lane.

The play, which has been moved from the Illyria of classic antiquity to 1950s Cuba before the revolution, will feature Cuban music performed and arranged by students. The MCVTS culinary arts program will serve Cuban food and beverages in the lobby.

The production is directed by theater-program director Maria Aladren and will feature students in the MCVTS School of the Arts.

Tickets at the door will be priced at $17 for adults, $7 for students. Teachers and school administrators (kindergarten-college) will be admitted free of charge. The show will run approximately two hours with intermission.
