The Howell Knights of Columbus Council 6201 will hold its 33rd annual golf tournament May 15 at Pine Barrens Golf Club in Jackson, a private course that has been the site for the U.S. Open Qualifier.
All proceeds will benefit Deborah Heart & Lung Foundation, Catholic Charities, Ronald McDonald House, Operation Homefront, Stomp the Monster, Jackson Food Pantry and local charities. Proceeds will be distributed at the annual picnic in September.
This year’s event, which has been held at Pine Barrens since it opened it 1999, is dedicated to Pat O’Connor for all his years of service to the parish of St. Aloysius, Council 6201 and the Jackson community.
There are 70 golfers currently signed up, and there is room for another 70, although the number likely will end up in the low 100s, event chairman Steve Stazko said.
The event has a 9 a.m. shotgun start. The entry fee costs $195 and can be paid by contacting Stazko at 732-901-1954 or by email at [email protected].
Fees include greens fees and cart, a golfer gift bag, hot breakfast before the event and a hot lunch afterward and beer and soda with meals and on the course.
There will be a putting contest, par-3 card game and a raffle for a trip to Ocean City for four people.
The day includes plaques and prizes for long drive and closest-to-pin and Hole-in-One bonus prizes for a 2017 Chevrolet Cruze on the 14th hole and a trip to the 2018 U.S. Open. There will be sports memorabilia and gift auctions.
Sponsors are still welcome and can contact Stazko. For more details, visit www.kofc6201.com.
