Louis A. Conforti

Mr. Conforti, 86, of Jackson, died Feb. 12, 2007, at Ocean Medical Center, Brick Township. He was born in Newark and lived in Nutley and Seaside Heights before moving to Jackson in 2005. Prior to retiring in 1982, he was a machinist with Bendex Corp., Teterboro and Eatontown, for more than 20 years. From 1964 to 1980, he also owned and operated the Bozo Drop on the Seaside Heights boardwalk. Mr. Conforti was predeceased by a brother, Jerry Conforti, and a sister, Josephine Russo. Surviving are his wife of 63 years, Phillis Conforti; a son, Louis A. Conforti Jr.; a daughter and son-in-law, Phillis and Wayne Jeffrey of Howell; a sister, Carmela Colangelo of Brick; and two granddaughters, Grace and Sophia Jeffrey. A funeral Mass was offered at St. Aloysius Catholic Church, Jackson, followed by interment at St. Mary of the Lake Cemetery, Lakewood. The Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, Freehold Township, was in charge of arrangements.

Joseph N. Napurano

Mr. Napurano, 65, of East Brunswick, died Feb. 27, 2007, at home. Born in Newark, he resided in East Brunswick the past 37 years. He was an engineering technician at Naval Weapons Station, Earle, Colts Neck, retiring in 2005. He served with the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. He was a communicant of Corpus Christi Roman Catholic Church, South River. He was predeceased by his father, Anthony Napurano; and a brother, Michael Napurano. He is survived by his wife of 37 years, Sylvia Kucharski Napurano; a son and daughter-in-law, Joseph and Natalie of Stewartsville; a daughter and son-in-law, Shelly and Peter McPartland of Tinton Falls; his mother, Virginia Napurano of the Colonia section of Woodbridge; and two sisters, Toni Riley of South Plainfield, and Virginia Perez of Allentown. A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at Corpus Christi Church. Burial was at St. Stanislaus Cemetery, Sayreville. Arrangements were by Maliszewski Funeral Home, South River.

Charles L. Cromer Sr.

Mr. Cromer, 73, of Freehold Township, died Feb. 26, 2007, at CentraState Medical Center, Freehold Township. Born in Long Branch, he had resided in Colts Neck before moving to Freehold Township in 1967. Prior to retiring 17 years ago, he was a machine operator for Circuit Foil USA, Bordentown. He was also a former member of Colts Neck Fire Company No. 1. Mr. Cromer’s brother, Gerald D. Cromer, died on Feb. 27. Surviving are his wife, Evelyn Emmons Cromer; six sons and three daughters-in-law, Charles Cromer Jr., William Cromer, Donald and Dawn Cromer, and James and Debra Cromer, all of Jackson, John Cromer of Camden, and Robert and Christine Cromer of the Morganville section of Marlboro; two daughters and a son-in-law, Barbara and Greg Ilaria of Manasquan, and Susan Jaiyeola of Freehold; 22 grandchildren; and a great-grandson. Funeral services were held at Higgins Memorial Home, Freehold, followed by interment at Old Tennent Cemetery, Tennent section of Manalapan.

Philip Jones

Philip Jones, 45, of Howell, died Feb. 24, 2007. He is survived by his mother, Kathleen; a brother, Richard; and a sister, Linda. Services were held at Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, Freehold Township.
