The Arizona Diamondbacks purchased the contract of veteran left-hander Aaron Laffery, who recently pitched for the Somerset Patriots.
Laffery was 1-1 and had a 2.82 ERA with 19 strikeouts this season for the Patriots. Laffery has pitched for numerous major league organizations, including the New York Yankees and New York Mets. He has appeared in more than 150 major league games.
Laffery is the fourth Patriot to have his contract purchased by a major league club this year. Lefty pitchers Jeremy Bleich and Logan Darnell and right-hander Tyler Cloyd have all signed with major league teams this spring.
