Spotswood mayor named honorary pig master for St. Peter’s roast

St. Peter’s Episcopal Church has named Spotswood Mayor Ed Seely as the first honorary pig master for its fourth annual Community Pig Roast.

The family-friendly event will be held from 4-7 p.m. on Sept. 16 at the church, located at the intersection of Main Street and Devoe Avenue in Spotswood.

There will be musical entertainment by DJ Ryan Galway, face-painting, a bounce house, 50/50 raffle and a tricky tray auction.

Tickets cost $20 per person or $60 for a four-meal, “buy 3, get 1 free” value package, including suppers of box-roasted whole pig, baked beans, coleslaw, local corn-on-the-cob and soft drink. Vegetarian options available.

Children’s meals of a hot dog, chips and drink are $5.

Bring-your-own wine and beer only.

Meals may be purchased for dine in or takeout.

Proceeds will benefit St. Peter’s and its charitable work in the greater Spotswood area, including the Wednesday Night Community Suppers, outreach garden, Alice’s CUP food pantry and Thrift Shop.
