Howell Day guests will learn about Green Team

HOWELL – Members of the Howell Green Team will present a Green Fair at this year’s Howell Day community celebration.

Howell Day will be held on Sept. 23 at Soldier Memorial Park, 793 Lakewood-Farmingdale Road. Residents are invited to enjoy a day of activities and to meet vendors and representatives of community organizations.

The purpose of the Green Team is to advise the Township Council on ways to improve municipal operations with “green” initiatives that make practical, environmental and financial sense, according to the municipal website.

Brian Tannenhaus, who serves on the Planning Board and on the Green Team, said the Green Fair will inform residents about what the group seeks to accomplish throughout the township.

“All of this is done based upon science and facts gathered by this year’s New Jersey Natural Gas grant,” he said.

Tannenhaus thanked his fellow Green Team member Sandra Solly and resident Elaine Taylor for donating part of their Hope for Howell vendor space to the Green Team at Howell Day.
