MILLSTONE – The Township Committee has taken action to complete the purchase of a hook lift truck.
On Sept. 20, the committee passed a resolution approving a change order in a contract with Mid-Atlantic Truck Centre Inc., Linden, for a 2017 model hook lift, Class VIII truck with accessories, increasing the contract to $201,638.
The contract to Mid-Atlantic Truck Centre for the hook lift truck was awarded by the committee in a resolution that was passed on Sept. 6. The original amount of the contract was $196,188.
According to the Sept. 20 resolution, the change order was completed because a stationary cab shield/protector and electric tarp were left off the bid specifications and the Millstone Township Department of Public Works indicated those items were necessary.
The addition of the stationary cab shield/protector and electric tarp resulted in a $5,450 increase, bringing the total contract to $201,638, according to the resolution.
In other business, committee members passed a resolution authorizing a shared services agreement with Jackson Township pertaining to conflict of interest and emergency coverage construction code enforcement services.
According to the resolution, Millstone is in need of making provisions for conflict of interest and emergency coverage relative to construction code enforcement services and Jackson has the personnel to meet Millstone’s need. As a result, the two municipalities agreed to enter into a shared services agreement.
Mayor Michael Kuczinski, Deputy Mayor Fiore Masci and Committeeman Bob Kinsey voted in favor of the resolutions that were passed on Sept. 20. Committee members Gary Dorfman and Nancy Grbelja were absent.
