The Cecilian Music Club has announced its winners for the Cecilian Music Club scholarship for the summer of 2017. Each winner was awarded $500 toward the cost of a summer music program.
Christopher Pan and Li Yuan Burne, both students of Chiu-Tze Lin of Englishtown, attended the Bravura Youth Orchestra Russian Concert Tour. Pieter Lootsma, a student of Marina Strakovsky of Rumson, attended the High School Composition Intensive at Boston Conservatory, according to a press release.
Students in grades six through 12 are eligible to apply for the scholarship. They must be students of Cecilian Club members and must submit an essay of 300 to 400 words describing how the music program of their choice will help them achieve their musical goals, according to the press release.
The Cecilian Music Club congratulated the winners and extended its thanks to the Cecilian Scholarship Committee and to its chair, Barbara Lerro of Freehold.
