Colts Neck library to host art show and sale

COLTS NECK – The Colts Neck Friends of the Library will hold its 18th annual Fine Arts Show and Sale at the Colts Neck Library, 1 Winthrop Drive, on two weekends in October. Residents of all communities are invited to attend the event.

There will be a large selection of artists and styles from which to choose. Varied prices on watercolors, oil paintings, hand-thrown pottery and wood carvings will be available, according to a press release.

The show and sale’s opening reception will be held from 7-9 p.m. Oct. 13. There will be a Meet the Artists wine tasting featuring the wines of 4JG’s Winery, Colts Neck, and a suggested donation of $10 at the door.

The gallery will be open in the lower level of the library for two consecutive weekends, Oct. 14-15 and Oct. 21-22 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. each day.

“This is a cultural event highlighting the many talented artists who call Colts Neck home, with 20 percent of sales going to the Friends of the Library Foundation to fund library programs and improvements,” said Eileen Petruch, the show and sale co-chair. “The best thing about this show is that it features all local artists, so it is a cultural event, not just a sale that has artists paying for participating.”

Artists in the show must live or have resided in Colts Neck to participate. For more information, contact the library at 732-431-5656.
