Howell will brighten holidays for families in need

HOWELL – The township, in cooperation with the Howell Police Athletic League, Howell PBA Local 228 and the Howell Chamber of Commerce, is sponsoring a holiday giveaway for residents.

“One of the things that makes Howell unique is the outpouring of help given whenever the time is called upon. From the Township Council to the Howell Police Department to the Chamber of Commerce and Police Athletic League, at any given moment the question is not how to do it, but let’s get it done,” said Steven Fecher, Howell’s director of community relations.

During the holiday season, officials are asking residents and business operators to consider adopting a family in need in the community.

“The Howell PAL likes to make sure that everyone has a good holiday,” PAL President Christopher Hill said.

The township’s goal is to assign each volunteer sponsor an “adopted” family in Howell in order to give that family’s children (toddlers to age 17) a brighter holiday, according to a press release.
