MANALAPAN – The driver and the passenger in a vehicle that crashed on Union Hill Road not sustain significant injuries during an incident on Nov. 21.
Manalapan police said that at 1:50 a.m., Patrolman Jeannie Letts, Patrolman Brian Cruse and Patrolman Matthew Porricelli responded to a report of a motor vehicle crash involving one vehicle and a telephone pole.
Following an investigation, a 21-year-old male resident of Brooklyn, N.Y., was charged with driving while intoxicated. The driver was processed and released to a family member. His passenger was transported to CentraState Medical Center, Freehold Township, as a precaution, however, no significant injuries were reported, according to police.
In other incidents reported by police:
• On Nov. 26 at 2:34 p.m., a resident of Manalapan reported that his 2016 Mercedes Benz E350 was stolen from his residence on Towne Drive sometime between 8:30 p.m. Nov. 25 and 2 p.m. Nov. 26. The vehicle was locked and the keys were accounted for by the owner. The vehicle was recovered at 10 p.m. Nov. 26 in Newark by the Newark Police Department.
• On Nov. 25 at 10:38 p.m., officers responded to Target, Route 9, in reference to a robbery. An investigation led to the arrest of a 23-year-old male resident of Aberdeen Township. Police said the man used physical force against a loss prevention officer while attempting to shoplift merchandise. The suspect was arrested and placed in the Monmouth County jail, Freehold Township, on charges of robbery, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of marijuana and possession of prescription medication.
• On Nov. 24 at 2 p.m., a Keyport resident reported that unknown individuals stole $584 in cash from his wallet while he was shopping at Marshalls, Route 9.
• On Nov. 23 at 1:26 p.m., a Manalapan resident reported that unknown individuals had stolen a tailgate valued at approximately $1,500 off a Ford F150 pickup truck while the vehicle was parked on Pension Road. The theft is reported to have occurred between 4 p.m. Nov. 21 and 11 a.m. Nov. 23.
• On Nov. 23 at 10:33 a.m., loss prevention employees at Wegmans, Route 9, reported that a 31-year-old female resident of Freehold had shoplifted items valued at $205. The woman was arrested by Manalapan police, processed and released.
