First aid squad volunteers qualify for benefit

Volunteer members of the Freehold First Aid and Emergency Squad have earned benefits based on their annual service to the organization.

On Dec. 18, the Borough Council in Freehold Borough passed a resolution authorizing the payment of Length of Service Award Program (LOSAP) benefits. Each squad member who achieved an established point criteria received $1,150, according to the resolution.

The first aid squad is an all-volunteer organization that serves Freehold Borough and Freehold Township.

According to the resolution, LOSAP provides for a fixed annual contribution to a deferred income account for volunteers who meet an established point criteria.

Freehold Borough and Freehold Township have previously entered into an interlocal services agreement for administering the benefits, according to the resolution. Lincoln National Life Insurance Company and Lincoln Financial Group have been designated to administer the benefit program granted to the qualifying members of the first aid squad.

According to a letter submitted to borough officials from the first aid squad, the members who completed the requirements for LOSAP are Selene Philben, Sean Preston, Laura Beckenstein, Joseph Panzariono, Nicholas Krauss, Rachel Mitzelman, Marc Umansky, Lauren Yetman, Patricia Conti, Kayla Ciok, Jeremy Hoffman, Kristen Conti, Stephen Russo, Alex Kubiak, Margaret Haas, Jacqueline McNamee, Robert Roche, Jamie Jacoby, Nicole Mitzelman, Alicia Gross, Steven Morley, Dominica Scalia and Richard Young.
