Cooke, Krawiec will seek re-election in Englishtown

ENGLISHTOWN – Two incumbent members of the Borough Council in Englishtown will seek new three-year terms this year. The new terms will run from Jan. 1, 2019, through Dec. 31, 2021.

According to the municipal clerk’s office, Republicans Lori Cooke and Maryanne Krawiec filed nominating petitions to run for office and retain their seats on the governing body. No Democrats filed a nominating petition to run for office.

An individual who wants to run as an independent candidate in November has until June 5 to file a nominating petition and secure a place on the general election ballot. On June 5, a candidate may be nominated via write-in votes to run with a political party affiliation.

In 2015, the last time Cooke and Krawiec ran for office, they were unopposed in the general election.

All the members of Englishtown’s governing body are Republicans. Cooke and Krawiec are joined on the Borough Council by Cecilia Robilotti, Eric Mann, Dan Marter and Gregory Wojyn. Mayor Thomas Reynolds is a Republican.
