CentraState Healthcare System, Freehold Township, was recently awarded the Monmouth County Workforce Development Board’s 2018 Business Partnership Award. The Partnership Awards were established in 1992 to recognize leaders from business, community service, education, government and organized labor who have contributed to Monmouth County’s social and economic successes. The Business Partnership Award was accepted on CentraState’s behalf by Ken Reilly, a member of the CentraState Healthcare System Board of Trustees, and Fran Keane, vice president of Human Resources at CentraState and board chair of the Monmouth County Workforce Development Board, at the board’s annual awards dinner on April 19 in Long Branch. Proceeds from the event will go to the Workforce Investment Board’s scholarship fund, providing scholarships to assist students attending Brookdale Community College.

CentraState Healthcare System, Freehold Township, recently honored three registered nurses with its 18th annual Nursing Excellence Awards for demonstrating exceptional clinical skill and leadership in the hospital and in the community. The 2018 award winners are: Kimberly Balagot, MSN, BA, RN-BC, 4 North, Medical Surgical Nursing Award; Astrid Noseal, RN, LDRP, Maternal Child Health Services Award; and Theresa Brown, BSN, MEd, RN, FN-CSA, CHC, Health Awareness Center, Extended Nursing Award. The award winners were celebrated at a ceremony during Nurses Week at the hospital. Each winner received a framed certificate, flowers, a monetary award and a pin. Their names will be added to a permanent plaque in the hallway outside of the nursing administrative offices.

Laura Schilare has been appointed CentraState Healthcare System’s new vice president of finance. She has more than 25 years of financial experience in manufacturing and the health care industry. Schilare comes to CentraState from the RWJ Barnabas Health Foundations in Oceanport, where she was corporate controller.
