David P. Maxcy

Mr. Maxcy, 79, of Hazlet, died Oct. 9 at Bayshore Community Hospital, Holmdel. Born in New York City, he resided in Woodbridge prior to moving to Hazlet in 1959. He was a purchasing manager at Allied Signal, Eatontown, for 30 years, retiring in 1990. He served with the U.S. Army 82nd Airborne during World War II. He was predeceased by a brother, William Maxcy Jr.; two sisters, Helen Bell and Dorothy Maxcy; a son, Thomas Maxcy; and a granddaughter, Lauren Asmar. He is survived by his wife of 58 yeas, Rosemary McCullough Maxcy; six daughters, Susan Power and Patricia Aguirre, both of Middletown, Barbara Maxcy of Coconut Grove, Fla.; Joann Maxcy of Eatontown, Karen Asmar of Keansburg, and Deborah Hillard of Hazlet; a son, Peter Maxcy of Middletown; six granddaughters; and four great-grandsons. A funeral gathering will be Oct. 13 at 8:30 a.m. at John F. Pfleger Funeral Home, Middletown. A funeral liturgy will follow at St. Ann’s Roman Catholic Church, Keansburg. Entombment will be at Mount Olivet Cemetery, Middletown.

Michael Yacovelli

Mr. Yacovelli, 72, of Hazlet, died Oct. 8 at home. Born in Newark, he resided there prior to moving to Hazlet 40 years ago. He was a carpenter at Atlantic Realty & Development, Woodbridge. He was a communicant of St. Benedict’s Roman Catholic Church, Holmdel. He is survived by his wife, Ann Gazzo Yacovelli of Hazlet; two sons and one daughter-in-law, Michael and Cindy Yacovelli, and Larry Yacovelli, all of Hazlet; two daughters, Debbie Vernon of Lakewood, and Yvonne Yacovelli of Hazlet; tow sisters, Lucy Kuebler of Florida, and Jeannette DiVizo of Edison; seven grandchildren; and one great-granddaughter. Arrangements were by Day Funeral Home, Keyport.

Salvatore Zammit

Mr. Zammit, 87, of the Parlin section of Sayreville, died Sept. 29 in Raritan Bay Medical Center, Old Bridge division. A son, Francis Zammit, died in 1951. Surviving are his wife, Concetta Mizzi Zammit; 12 children, Joseph Zammit of Sayreville, Emmanuel Zammit, Emmanuela Zammit, Frank Zammit, Charles Zammit, Lorraine Chevere and Gerard Zammit, all of Parlin, Mary Murphy of Newton, Margaret Gambarrotti of Florida, Bernard Zammit and Lucy Zammit-Waters, both of Staten Island, N.Y., and Dolores Zammit of the Fords section of Woodbridge; a brother, Joseph Zammit of Malta; 29 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. A Mass was offered at Sacred Heart Church, South Amboy. Entombment was in Sacred Heart Cemetery, Parlin.

Esther Lehrhaupt Roth

Mrs. Roth, 98, of Edison, died Oct. 2 at home. Born in New York City, she had lived most of her life in Staten Island, N.Y., before moving to Edison nine years ago. She was a member of Congregation B’nai Jeshurun, Staten Island, and Congregation Neve Shalom, Metuchen, where she was active in the Sisterhood. Mrs. Roth was predeceased in 1995 by her husband, Moe. Surviving are two daughters, Sandra Fields of Edison and Marlene Superior of Staten Island; two granddaughters; and two great-granddaughters. Graveside services were held at Baron Hirsch Cemetery, Staten Island. The Goldstein Funeral Chapel Inc., Edison, was in charge of arrangements. Stanley W. “Bill” Wasylyk

Mr. Wasylyk, of East Brunswick, died Sept. 26 in Raritan Bay Medical Center, Old Bridge division. Prior to his retirement, he was employed by Fishkin Brothers, Perth Amboy, where he worked for 30 years. Surviving are his wife, Jean Jasinski Wasylyk; three sons, Dean Wasylyk of Edison, Donald Wasylyk of East Brunswick and Gary Wasylyk of South Brunswick; and two grandchildren. Private services were under the direction of Selover Funeral Home, North Brunswick.
