The Old Bridge Library has created new Sensory Play and Music and Movement Baby sessions available this summer. Registration is not required.
The Sensory Play sessions will be held on the second and fourth Fridays of the month from 6-8 p.m.: July 13 and 27 and Aug. 3 and 17. Sensory Play was created for children on the autism spectrum as studies have shown that sensory experiences can be a motivating factor in a child’s development. This program will provide an area where kids can improve social play, and develop their fine motor skills, while investigating and exploring sensory stations.
Siblings are welcome to attend. Caregivers are required to stay and play with their children.
Additionally, some of the library’s storytime sessions have evolved into Music and Movement Baby Time programs, where youth librarians will lead children and their caregivers as they dance for 30 minutes. Sessions are scheduled for July 10 and 17 at 10 a.m. for ages up to 2, and July 11 at 10 a.m. for ages 2-4.
The library is located at 1 Old Bridge Plaza at the corner of Route 516 and Cottrell Road in the Municipal Center. For more information, visit www.oldbridgelibrary.org or call 732-721-5600, ext. 5033.
