ENGLISHTOWN – Incumbent Republicans Lori Cooke and Maryanne Krawiec have won new three-year terms on the Borough Council in Englishtown. The terms will run from January 2019 through December 2021.
On Nov. 6, Cooke and Krawiec were re-elected to the governing body. Cooke received 371 votes and Krawiec received 352 votes, according to results posted online by the Monmouth County Clerk’s Office.
The two Republicans turned back a challenge from independent candidate William Lewis Jr., who received 157 votes, and Libertarian Daniel Francisco, who received 91 votes. The election results are unofficial until they are certified by the county.
“I would like to thank the residents of Englishtown for their support,” Krawiec said. “I intend to continue to provide the best services to our residents while working to keep our municipal taxes low.”
Republicans will continue will continue to hold all six council seats, as well as the mayor’s office. Cooke and Krawiec are joined on the council by Republicans Eric Mann, Dan Marter, Cecilia Robilotti and Greg Wojyn. Mayor Thomas Reynolds is also a Republican.
