United Methodist Church plans Christmas concerts, silent auction

United Methodist Church will hold an Organ & Strings Christmas Concert and Silent Auction at 5 p.m. on Dec. 16 at the church, 47 N. Main St., Milltown.

Organist Shea Velloso will be joined by a string quartet for a program of
Christmas music. The concert will feature the music of Johann Sebastian
Bach, G. F. Handel, Ralph Vaughan Williams and various Christmas carols,
all arranged for organ and string quartet.

A free-will offering will be taken to help fund the installation of the
pipe organ and to defray the cost of the concert.

The concert will be followed by a reception as well as a silent auction; proceeds will also go toward the
organ.

The church will then serve as the host to a Christmas Eve service of lessons and carols at 10 p.m. Dec. 24, featuring the music of Adolphe Adam, Bob Chilcott, John Rutter, Charles Wood
and others. Music will be provided by the Bell Choir and the Sanctuary Choir, and
there will be selections for organ and cello.
