Super Pet Expo to include rabbit jumping, dog tricks, cat petting area

The Super Pet Expo will run from Feb. 8-10 at the New Jersey Convention Center, 97 Sunfield Ave., Edison.

The Marvelous Mutts features top canine athletes, all adopted from shelters and rescues. They snatch Frisbees mid-air, race through obstacle courses and perform tricks and stunts.

There will be rabbit jumping demonstrations, and educational panels with question-and-answer sessions.

Macaw parrots Molly, Polly and Dolly strut their stuff for New Jersey Bird Man Bill Middleton performing an Exotic Bird Show in which they ride bikes, rollerskate, play basketball and more.

National Stunt Dog champions Good Beasley and Following Felix with trainers Chrissy Joy and Chris McCauley will conduct trick workshops to teach dogs feats. They will also host a showbiz workshop at 1:30 p.m. Feb. 10, as well as a pet talent show.

The Cat Fanciers’ Association will demonstrate cat agility.

The Garden State Cat Club of New Jersey is sponsoring a Pet Me Cat Area.

Repticon will feature reptiles such as snakes and lizards from Africa, Australia and the Americas as well as reptile supplies, themed products and expert advice on reptile care.

Rizzo’s Reptile Discovery will show visitors the magic and excitement of reptiles.

Leashed pets are admitted free; no retractable leashes.

Hours are 3-8 p.m. Feb. 8, 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Feb. 9 and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Feb. 10.

Tickets are $13 for adults 12 and older or $8 for children ages 4-11 for a one-day pass. Weekend passes are $20 for adults or $10 for children. Kids 3 and under are free, one per adult.
