MILLSTONE – The Township Committee in Millstone Township has entered into shared services agreements with neighboring Roosevelt for certified recycling reporting services and assistance with a road that is in both municipalities.
Committee members passed separate resolutions authorizing the shared services agreements with Roosevelt, which is predominantly encircled by Millstone, on Jan. 2.
According to the resolution for certified recycling reporting, Millstone will provide those services to Roosevelt for a cost not to exceed $200 annually.
Millstone officials also authorized an agreement with Roosevelt for repairs, maintenance, snow removal and ice control on Nurko Road, which is in both municipalities. Millstone will provide those services on Nurko Road as needed and requested by Roosevelt.
In other business, committee members authorized an interlocal services agreement for regional animal control with Manalapan, Freehold Township and Freehold Borough. Manalapan will serve as the lead agency for the four municipalities.
According to a resolution, the existing contract for regional animal control expired on Dec. 31, 2018. The new agreement, prepared by Manalapan, began on Jan. 1 and will end on Dec. 31, 2020.
And, committee members appointed Dennis Gibson as the plumbing subcode official for a four-year term from Jan. 1, 2019 through Dec. 31, 2022. Gibson was also appointed as the temporary construction construction official. He will receive $47 per hour, not to exceed 10 hours per week, according to a resolution.
Finally, committee members awarded a contract to State Corporate for municipal court security in 2018 and 2019. According to a resolution, the firm submitted a quote of $35 per hour for armed security and $21 per hour for unarmed security and was awarded the contract as the lowest responsible bidder.
Other quotes were received from the New Jersey State Police, which offered to provide an armed police officer for $97.82 per hour, and from Protective Plus Security and Security 411, neither of which specified a price for security personnel.
