EAST BRUNSWICK – East Brunswick police charged a 19-year-old male from East Brunswick, as well as a 17-year-old juvenile, for allegedly breaking into a pickup truck at 1 a.m. on Feb. 12 in the area of Oak Street.
The owner of the pickup truck reportedly confronted the suspects, who purportedly fled the area on foot after struggling with the owner, according to information provided by the East Brunswick Police Department. Descriptions of the suspects were broadcasted to responding units, who apprehended the suspects a short time later near Old Matawan Road and Emerson Street, according to police.
The suspects were charged with burglary, criminal mischief, simple assault and conspiracy, according to police.
The man was lodged at the Middlesex County Adult Corrections Center while the juvenile was released to a guardian, according to police.
