WOODBRIDGE – Police are continuing to investigate a single motor vehicle crash that left two Colonia High School students injured, one in critical condition, according to police.
The incident occurred after 2 p.m. on Feb. 22. The two pedestrians were walking home from school along New Dover Road, which does not have a sidewalk, Police Sgt. Jim Chessere said, noting there is a painted line and a dirt area off the roadway.
A woman driving along New Dover Road towards Edison Township allegedly drifted from the painted line and hit the two pedestrians and sideswiped a telephone pole before coming to a stop, police said.
The woman of the vehicle and the two young men are residents of the township, police said.
Chessere said one of the pedestrians sustained minor injuries and the other pedestrian sustained critical injuries. The two pedestrians were transported to University Hospital in Newark. The driver was not injured.
