Aiming to introduce foodies to Hightstown’s restaurants, Downtown Hightstown is launching Restaurant Week, which is set for March 17 to March 23.
The restaurants, scattered throughout Hightstown Borough, will offer discounts or prix fixe meals to help get Restaurant Week off the ground.
Fernando’s Grille and 12 Farms, for example, are each offering prix fixe meals. For $32, patrons at Fernando’s Grille can choose from a soup or salad, one of five entrees and an assortment of desserts. Beverages are extra.
Tavern on the Lake is offering 10 percent off regular-priced items, and 4 Seasons Deli is offering 18 percent off the total bill. Taco Rito is offering a “3 for $25” deal that includes rice bowls, tacos, burritos or crazy empanadas.
Ralph’s Famous Italian Ice and Ice Cream is offering a 10-percent discount on sundaes, and Morgan’s Island Grill will take 10 percent off the tab.
The Hightstown Diner is featuring a “happy hour” from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m., with half-price appetizers. There is a “2 for $22” dinner that includes an appetizer, two full dinner entrees, soup or salad, and a dessert.
“It’ts really inspiring when businesses come together to elevate Hightstown,” Borough Councilman Lee Stults said.
“There are a plethora of eateries that are family- and locally-owned. We look forward to people coming out to experience all our town has to offer,” Stults said.
Rennie DiLorenzo of 12 Farms said the restaurant is “thrilled” to take part in Restaurant Week.
“Our dining room is an extension of our home kitchen. We are fortunate to be part of such an incredible community,” DiLorenzo said.
