An open house is being held for Our Lady of Victories School in Sayreville, a private Catholic school for students in pre-K to grade eight.
The open house will be held on April 4 from 6-7:30 p.m. at the school, which is located at 36 Main St., Sayreville. The event is intended for families interested in pre-kindergarten through grade seven, according to representatives from the school.
Our Lady of Victories School was founded in 1889 shortly after the creation of the Our Lady of Victories parish in 1886.
Originally housed in the basement of the church, a separate facility for the school was constructed on church property in 1930 and expanded in the 1950s, according to information provided by the school.
As a Catholic school in the the Diocese (district) of Metuchen, it is accredited as a system by the non-profit and non-paritisan organization AdvancED.
According to the school, children aged three or four are enrolled in the Early Childhood Program and parents or guardians must complete and submit an early childhood admissions application for Pre-K 3 or Pre-K 4. Pre-K 4 students must be age four by Oct. 31 and Pre-K 3 students must be age three by Oct. 31. A non-refundable registration/student fee of $300 per child is required and all pre-K students must be toilet trained.
Parents and guardians of students entering kindergarten through grade eight are required to complete and submit the school’s new student admissions application.
A copy of each child’s last report card and standardized test scores must be submitted if available and a new student assessment has to be scheduled with the office for students in grades 1-8. To finalize admission, families are required to submit a commitment letter, other attached forms, and the non-refundable student registration fee to the office, according to the school.
