EAST BRUNSWICK – The Township Council has introduced an ordinance that would, if adopted, amend the municipal code to account for stop signs that have been placed at intersections on Sullivan Way.
Council members introduced the ordinance on March 11. A public hearing on the ordinance is scheduled for the council’s March 25 meeting. The council may adopt the ordinance following the public hearing.
Business Administrator Joseph Criscuolo said stop signs have been placed at the designated intersections. He said the ordinance will update the municipal code to reflect those locations.
Along Sullivan Way, stop signs have been placed at the intersection of Hamlin Road, Arbit Road, Gulf Road, Allwood Road and Whitehall Road.
In addition, a stop sign has been placed at the intersection of Corona and Hamlin roads and the ordinance will now permit that sign, officials said.
Council members noted that Whitehall Road does not have a delineated crosswalk, however, approved and certified signs are necessary.
