The road to the 2019 U.S. Women’s Open travels through Forsgate Country Club in Monroe Township.
Or, at least one road does.
On April 23, Forsgate’s historic Banks Course will serve as the host to a sectional qualifying golf tournament for the U.S. Women’s Open. The United States Golf Association recently announced this news about Forsgate holding the qualifier.
Forsgate officials revealed it to the public this past week.
The tournament will be one of 25 sectional qualifiers held across the country. The 74th U.S. Women’s Open is scheduled for May 30-June 2 at the Country Club of Charleston in South Carolina.
Forsgate’s Banks Course is a 6,904 yard, 71 par beauty known for its deep bunkers and undulating greens. Architect Charles “Steam Shovel” Banks designed it in 1931. The course should reflect well upon the club to the wider golf community.
“We are looking forward to hosting the U.S. Women’s Open Sectional Qualifier here at Forsgate, and I know the players will love the Banks Course. I can’t wait to watch some great golf and the members will be able to see some outstanding talent,” said Forsgate’s Director of Golf, Carolyn McKenzie Andrews.
