Milltown attorney charged with witness tampering

A Milltown defense attorney has been charged with witness tampering in three separate pending criminal cases.

Michael Policastro, 52, of Monroe, whose law practice is located in Milltown, has been charged with four counts of witness tampering in the third degree.

Policastro was charged on April 5 following an investigation by Detective Raul Guerra of the Middlesex County Prosecutor’s Office. The investigation determined that between February and November 2018, Policastro allegedly was in contact with witnesses at the Middlesex County Adult Correction Center and at his office in Milltown, who were involved in official criminal proceedings, according to information provided by Middlesex County Prosecutor Andrew C. Carey.

During these contacts, Policastro allegedly encouraged those witnesses to testify or inform falsely, or withhold testimony or information pertaining to three criminal cases that were pending in Middlesex County Superior Court at that time, Carey said in the statement.

Anyone with information is asked to call Guerra at 732-745-3961.
