The Edison Arts Society (EAS) will be holding its annual Gala Fundraiser Ball – “Artists by Candlelight” – on May 20 at the Sheraton Edison Hotel at Raritan Center, 125 Raritan Center Parkway. The evening, which is black tie optional, features a sit-down dinner, dancing to the arts society’s Big Dance Band and a 50/50 raffle, as well as an art sale of more than 50 works by EAS members. This year, the society will present Dorothy Hanle, president/CEO of Dayton Auto Center, with its 2006 Medal of Honor for her dedication to EAS, the Edison Symphony Orchestra and community arts. Six outstanding “Artists of the Season” from 2005 will also be recognized. Cocktails will be served starting at 6:30 p.m., with an open bar. Dinner will follow. Cost is $150 per person.
