EAST BRUNSWICK–The East Brunswick Public Library launched Creative Club, a new weekly program where members are allowed access to the EB Create Makerspace.
A “creative consultant” will showcase specific equipment and materials that library customers can use. Upcoming programs include making stamps and stationary at 2 p.m. on June 15, video editing at 7 p.m. on June 17, and clothing alterations at 2 p.m. on June 26.
Outside of the library’s Creative Club programs, library customers can use the Makerspace independently. There is a wide variety of equipment available to use; the Makerspace has a recording studio, video editing equipment, Macintosh graphic design computers, Sphero programmable robots, sewing machines and other crafting equipment, according to information provided by the library.
The library offers its cardholders the ability to check out curated kits featuring items from the Makerspace for a period of two weeks. This includes GoPro video cameras, ukuleles and podcasting equipment.
