MILLSTONE – A project to improve accessibility at municipal buildings in Millstone Township has been deemed complete.
On June 19, Township Committee members authorized an $18,050 payment to Automatics Unlimited, Marlboro, for Americans with Disabilities Act door improvements at the Millstone Township municipal building, Stagecoach Road, and the Millstone Township municipal courthouse, Millstone Road.
Automatics Unlimited was awarded the contract for the project in March. Funds for the work were covered by a $23,636 grant received by the Monmouth County Community Development Program, a section of the Monmouth County Division of Planning, according to a resolution.
The initial contract awarded to Automatics Unlimited totaled $17,200. Prior to authorizing the final payment, committee members authorized an $850 increase in the agreement, which made the final amount $18,050.
According to a resolution, the change occurred after initial work was completed and was authorized because of additional work that was required for the removal and framing for new doors.
In other business, the committee authorized the reappointment of Robin Bucchi for a term of office that began on July 1. Bucchi will work 21 hours per week as tax assessor, which will grant her tenure in her position, according to a resolution.
Mayor Fiore Masci and committeemen Michael Kuczinski, Gary Dorfman and Al Ferro voted in favor of the actions taken at the meeting. Deputy Mayor Nancy Grbelja was absent.
