The Manalapan Police Department reported the following incidents occurred in the township:
• On July 1 at 7 p.m., officers responded to a residence on Saint Andrews Place in reference to a report of a theft. A Manalapan resident told the officers an unknown individual stole a package that had been delivered and left outside the building by a delivery service. The package contained costume jewelry.
• On July 3 at 9:32 a.m., officers responded to Neal Drive for a report of vandalism. A resident reported his vehicle had all four of its tires slashed while it was parked in the driveway between 10 p.m. July 2 and 9:30 a.m. July 3. No other vehicles in the area were damaged.
• On July 6 at 7:12 a.m., a Manalapan resident from Plymouth Lane reported a motor vehicle theft. The resident told police that at 3:56 a.m., unknown individuals stole the vehicle from the driveway of his residence.
• On July 6 at 10:38 a.m., officers responded to a residence on Belle Terre Drive in reference to a report of a theft. A Manalapan resident told the officers that sometime during the early morning hours, an unknown individual entered his vehicle and removed various items. The vehicle was unlocked and parked in the driveway.
• On July 6 at 11:19 a.m., officers responded to a residence on Devon Drive in reference to a report of a theft. A Manalapan resident told the officers that sometime during the early morning hours, an unknown individual entered her vehicle and removed various items. The vehicle was unlocked and parked in the driveway.
• On July 6 at 12:12 p.m., officers responded to a residence on Newport Drive in reference to a report of a theft. A Manalapan resident told the officers that sometime during the early morning hours, an unknown individual entered his vehicle and removed cash. The vehicle was unlocked and parked on the street in front of the residence.
• On July 6 at 7 p.m., officers responded to a residence on Cherry Hill Lane in reference to a report of a theft. A Manalapan resident told the officers that sometime during the early morning hours, an unknown individual entered her vehicle and removed various items. The vehicle was unlocked and parked in the driveway.
• On July 9 at 5:46 p.m., a Manalapan resident from Fawn Run told police that sometime during the early morning hours, an unknown individual entered a vehicle and removed a wallet containing credit cards. The credit cards were subsequently used to make fraudulent purchases in Freehold and East Brunswick. The vehicle was unlocked and parked in the driveway at the time of the theft.
• On July 9 at 5:34 p.m., a 95-year-old Manalapan resident told police that at 11 a.m., an unknown individual called and said her grandson had been arrested and that she needed to provide the caller with cash so her grandson could be released. The woman provided the caller with $1,000 and later learned she had been the victim of a scam.
• On July 9 at 6:56 p.m., a 29-year-old resident of Franklin Park reported an incident of criminal mischief. The individual told police that sometime between June 30 and July 5, an unknown individual damaged a vehicle while it was parked at a business on Craig Road. The vehicle was repeatedly scratched and the damage was estimated at $1,748.
• On July 10 at 12:20 p.m., a Freehold resident reported an incident of theft. The woman told police that at 12:15 p.m., an unknown individual stole her purse and iPhone while she was shopping at a business on Route 9 in Manalapan.
• On July 12 at 7:57 a.m., officers responded to a business on Route 9 in reference to the a report of a theft. An employee told the officers that sometime between 7:20 a.m. and 7:27 a.m., an unknown individual removed a microwave valued at $405 from the outside rear of the business.
