The Manalapan Police Department reported that the following incidents occurred in the municipality:
• On Sept. 3, a Manalapan resident reported that an unknown individual had recently opened several department store credit cards using the victim’s personal information and completed transactions totaling $959.
• On Sept. 1 at 8:18 a.m., officers responded to a residence on Lusitano Road to investigate a report of a burglary. A resident said that sometime between Aug. 23 and Aug. 31, an unknown individual removed cash from the residence. There were no signs of forced entry to the residence.
• On Aug. 30 at 4 p.m., a Manalapan resident reported an incident of fraud. The resident told police that sometime between June 16 and Aug. 11, an unknown individual used the victim’s credit card and made 35 fraudulent transactions in New Jersey and New York totaling $8,124.
• On Aug. 28, a Manalapan resident reported an incident of fraud. The resident told police that on Aug. 19, an unknown individual used the victim’s personal banking information and made multiple unauthorized transactions totaling $2,730.
• On Aug. 27 at 5:41 p.m., officers responded to a residential facility on Route 33 to investigate a report of an assault. A resident of the facility told the officers that on Aug. 27,
a known individual struck her in the head with a closed fist.
• On Aug. 25 at 3:43 p.m., officers responded to a business on Route 33 to investigate a report of criminal mischief to a vehicle. A resident of Jackson told the officers that sometime between 11:30 p.m. Aug. 24 and 3 p.m. Aug. 25, an unknown individual damaged the victim’s vehicle while it was parked at the business. The vehicle’s side view mirrors were broken, a tire was punctured and the antenna was damaged.
• On Aug. 24 at 3:15 p.m., officers responded to a business on Route 9 to investigate a report of theft. The owner of the business told the officers that on Aug. 18 at 5:06 p.m., a former employee took items from the store without paying for them.
• On Aug. 23, a resident of Manalapan told police an unknown individual used the victim’s personal information to access a bank account and made fraudulent purchases in California totaling $3,633.
• On Aug. 23 at 9:20 a.m., officers responded to a business on Route 9 to investigate a report of fraud. An employee reported that earlier that day, an unknown individual
attempted to change the payroll information for an employee of the business and
collect a direct deposit paycheck.
